Animation for Fun and Profit!

If you have the option to make your emails move, then why would you ever do it any other way? Eye-catching and memorable, animation has captivated the human imagination ever since it debuted. A series of pictures shown in quick succession to give the illusion of movement, animation isn’t just for film and TV, but can indeed be an extremely valuable asset to any project using a visual medium. Even on a purely surface level, you can use animation to make your marketing stand out a lot more than it would have, but if you go just a little deeper, a whole new world opens up to you.

We here at SalesLabX have utilized animation in our marketing to great benefit, and all of our designers are trained and ready to implement animations wherever they might be needed! They’re chomping at the bit to put their animation powers to use, which is why we’re introducing Animated Emails, now included in SLX Essentials, Professional, and Enterprise plans! We only need one extra day to make your email animated, so while a regular email would take about 48 hours to get a proof to you, an animated email would take 72 (For more information on turnaround times, hop on over to our Methods Page). Believe us when we say that it’s more than worth the bit of extra time!

What kind of things can animated emails do? Well, here are some of the ways in which we can give your marketing materials the boost they need:

You Can’t Embed Video in an Email… Or Can You?

You have a new product you’re unveiling and you can’t wait

to show it off. So naturally, you create a demo reel! You hire camera people, you hit that amazing product from all angles, and you create a video for the ages. If you developed a new, exciting piece of software, then you screen record yourself digging into the functionality of it. Your customers will see this video, and they will have no choice but to buy, right? Well… First, they have to see the video. Unfortunately, email is not generally a friend to video; the files are usually way too large to send, and most email clients simply don’t support embedded video, which is pretty rude of them, if you ask us. Luckily, using the magic of animation, we have a work-around.

Will it have sound? No. However–once optimized–it will be able to give a brief visual rundown, without overwhelming the message with massive file sizes. You can show how your software works, show off a physical product, and–if you’re feeling saucy–you can even make the animation a link that’ll take your customer to the actual, full video being hosted on a different site!

It’s Just That Easy!

Let's face it: sometimes, it can be hard to explain a difficult concept using only words. Have you ever had a friend try and

explain the rules of a board game to you, and after about four sentences, it all kind of bleeds together into haunting carnival music? Same principle. So how did you end up learning the game? Well, someone shows you how to play, of course! Animation can do that for you.

In this instance, a complex idea is simplified simply by showing instead of telling. A few seconds of time is able to sum up what would normally amount to paragraphs of text. Not only are you making your information more digestible, but also more visually engaging, which is going to keep their eyes on your content. That’s a good thing. You’re gonna want those eyes.

Ultimate CTA Visibility!

No longer will your prospects wonder where it is they’re meant to click! The work has already been done.

You don’t even have to be subtle about it. Your animation can literally be a giant flashing arrow that says, “CLICK HERE”.

You might want to A/B Test that one, though. Animation is a powerful tool, and with great power comes great responsibility, so maybe use a little bit more nuance than the example we provided. The point is that you can use animation to guide the eye of your customers and prospects to wherever you want it to land. The ability to guide someone's vision is an incredible advantage. Use it!

I Just Think It’s Neat.

All other reasons aside, adding animation to your marketing just makes it look cool. As long as you’re not overusing it (which can absolutely happen)

it can be used to give your emails, landing pages, social posts, and whatever else that dynamic feel that you wouldn’t get otherwise. Just look at that! Are you not dazzled?

Animation is incredible, but it’s also not easy. It takes a lot of know-how to be able to condense animations to the proper size and still have them look good. You need design knowledge to tell you where to place them. You need the right testing environment to tell you what animations resonate with your audience and which do not. Like everything, adding animation to your marketing and having it work takes practice.

We have that experience! As a team, we’ve added countless animations to emails and landing pages for our clients with great success! Take the guesswork out of it, and reach out for a demo from SalesLabX. As stated, our designers are all ready to add gorgeous animations to any of your upcoming projects, you just need to say the word.
